Within our clinic, interns form an integral part of our dedicated team. As our team and services are growing, we are now looking to increase our team of Veterinary Interns. We are looking for an Intern to assist our Imaging team.

We offer a specialist-led internship programme for the duration of one year. The role consists of varying shifts to suit the needs of a 24/7/365 hospital, which includes care of in-house patients during out of hours. Active involvement in client communication and patient care is expected, with participation in consults and treatments/surgeries. Our internship offers weekly journal clubs and radiography rounds.

Candidates wishing to apply should be MRCVS or MRCVS eligible, be proactive, enthusiastic and a great team player but also be able to use their own initiative and self-motivate. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task with a flexible approach to working are a must.

Main duties will include:

  • Assist in the acquisition of CTs and MRIs, including operating the CT and MRI machines after appropriate training.
  • Writing draft radiological reports; Ensure reports are written to an excellent standard.
  • Obtaining ultrasound-guided cystocentesis and simple fine needle aspiration samples following appropriate training.
  • Read around your cases and prepare for routine imaging cases in advance
  • Participating in OOH weekend and weekday rota (no more frequent than an average of 1:4 weekends and 1:4 weekday nights, respectively)
  • Help to maintain general imaging records and EasyVet PACS system
  • Help general workflow by assisting with efficient throughput of imaging patients and liaising with the anaesthesia team and support staff.
