We are looking to recruit a full-time Marketing and Communications Assistant to join our friendly and efficient operational support team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and approachable person who is a great team player, but is also self-motivated, proactive, and able to work using their own initiative. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to work with key stakeholders and external agencies to plan and execute our marketing and internal communication activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task with a flexible approach to working are a must. Experience of working in a veterinary environment is desirable.
The role is 40 hours a week, generally Monday to Friday although some out of hours work may be required to cover events, exhibitions, and key events at the hospital.
Main roles and Responsibilities
General Marketing Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with both external agencies & key stakeholders within the practice.
Ensure brand guidelines are adhered to in all marketing activities and across the hospital premises.
Create content for publications e.g., newsletters, brochures, flyers.
Build a bank of photographs of the hospital, staff, and patients for future use.
Keep the company website accurate and regularly updated.
Assist with organisation and attendance at CPD, exhibitions, tradeshows, and other online and in person events.
Work with our PR agency to identify news and updates that are suited for press releases, for local, national, or veterinary press.
Social Media Responsibilities
Work closely with our PR agency to develop and implement engaging social media content across multiple platforms.
Create content following interesting patient stories and case studies.
Monitor social media platforms for mentions of HSR, respond to reviews, and ensure that staff are complying with our social media policy.
Internal Communications Responsibilities
Keep the company’s SharePoint page regularly updated with news.
Assist the senior management team in drafting internal communications.
Arrange internal events e.g., the annual HSR ‘Hammys’ Awards ceremony.
The Ideal Candidate:
Excellent writing and editing skills with an eye for grammar and accuracy.
A positive attitude and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high quality of work.
Ambitious and self-starting with the ability to identify creative new approaches.
Ability to build strong relationships with clients, agencies, and colleagues.
Professional, confident, and diplomatic in all situations.
Outstanding attention to detail, accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed.
Experience in a marketing and/or communications role, or carrying out these duties in a veterinary practice
