Nicky started working with horses from a young age and was a show jumping and eventing groom for 4 years after leaving school. After having her two sons, Nicky decided it was time for a career change and trained as a veterinary nurse. Whilst working in a London-based small animal practice, Nicky studied at The College of Animal Welfare and qualified as an RVN at the beginning of 2009. Soon after this, Nicky became Head Nurse at her practice and has continued as a head nurse for most of her VN career.
In 2013 Nicky and her family moved to Oxfordshire where she became head nurse at new practice, staying in this role for 5 years before progressing into a practice management role in 2018. Nicky joined HSR in June 2020 and thoroughly enjoys using her clinical and management experience to ensure everything runs smoothly. Outside of work, Nicky lives with her two grown up sons and their dogs, Jess and Cookie, bearded dragon Bella and turtle called Squirt.
