We continue to be able to accept routine and emergency appointments. At present, we are still operating on 'client-free' basis in the hospital and if you are bringing your pet to an appointment we ask that you remain in the car and telephone to let us know you have arrived. Your pet will then be collected from you. We have installed a shelter in our client car park to make the wait more pleasant as we move into the winter months.
Please do not attend your appointment if you have shown symptoms of Coronavirus within the last 14 days or if you have been advised to self-isolate.
We continue to be able to accept routine and emergency appointments. At present, we are still operating on 'client-free' basis in the hospital meaning that all consultations are done via video call.
We would like to reassure all of our clients and referring that we are now seeing all forms of routine orthopaedic and neurology cases, with very strict biosecurity and social distancing measures in place.
We are continuing to follow the advice of the government and our governing bodies. At HSR we believe in transparency and communication, which is why we would like to share our Covid-19 Risk Assessment with you, which can be found here.
As always, please feel free to contact us should you have any queries or concerns.
Clare & Michael
We are still open 24/7. We have strict biosecurity and social distancing measures in place to continue to protect our team against Covid-19. Our hospital is still 'client-free,' meaning that all consultations are done via video call. Under the guidance of the RCVS, we are still only seeing urgent and emergency cases in to the hospital, but we are offering video consultations only to owners of non-urgent cases so that we can provide any necessary advice and reassurance.
As always, our priority is to continue to offer gold-standard service for both orthopaedic and neurological cases whilst doing our utmost to limit the spread of Covid-19 as much as possible.
We are still offering our pet ambulance service too. This service is for vulnerable clients who are self-isolating and provides collection and drop off as well as a video call for consultation with the Specialist. We are also very happy to post medications and give advice over email, et cetera, as usual.
We will keep you updated with all further developments once we receive further updates from the RCVS.
In the meantime, please stay safe and well
Clare, Michael and the Team
We make an extra effort to explain all procedures clearly and concisely so our clients feel part of the solution.
We hope that you, your families and businesses are remaining safe and well and are continuing to cope in these unprecedented and challenging times. We would like to update you on our current services here at Hamilton Specialist Referrals.
WE ARE HERE AS USUAL FOR EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CASES THAT NEED TO BE SEEN
As lockdown continues, we are also offering chargeable video consultations for any cases deemed to be elective but whose owners are concerned and wish to have contact with a Specialist before such time as lockdown is lifted.
We understand that it can be difficult to decide whether a patient can wait to be referred in the current circumstances, which is why we are providing a free of charge telephone triage system for cases where you are uncertain whether they need to be seen.
We remain available on 01494 578566 and firstname.lastname@example.org for any advice you need - please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any advice or guidance on a case or whether we need to see the patient urgently.
Don’t forget we are also offering a pet ambulance service for vulnerable clients who are self-isolating, (subject to complying with the current government guidelines).
Please stay safe and we look forward to speaking to you soon
Very best wishes,
The Team at Hamilton Specialist Referrals
We truly care about each and every animal. That compassion is evident from the first appointment, right through to the final consultation.
In response to the Government instructions released last night we are asking all of our clients with non-urgent, non-emergency cases to postpone their pet’s treatment until the restrictions on travel are lifted.
WE ARE STILL HERE FOR YOUR PETS IF THEY REQUIRE EMERGENCY TREATMENT
We will be contacting all clients with an upcoming appointment that is not an emergency to rearrange. We will also be sending out an email to our referring vets to help guide them on treatment and decision making on emergency cases.
As always, if you have any queries or concerns about your pet or your patient, please contact us on 01494 578566 OR email us on email@example.com
Stay safe and we’ll see you soon,
Clare & Michael Hamilton
For vulnerable clients who are self-isolating we are offering a pet ambulance service for collection and drop off and a video call for consultation with the Specialist. We are also very happy to post medications and give advice over email etc. as usual.
We will endeavour to keep you all updated as things unfold. In the meantime, what we would ask is that we all work together, in what are unprecedented circumstances, for the good of our patients, clients and employees.
To facilitate early and accurate diagnosis we operate sophisticated digital imaging including MRI and CT at our purpose built, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital.
We would like to assure you that Hamilton Specialist Referrals remains open for your pets and we are here for you. In these unique and challenging times, we continue to be fully committed to continuing to care for our patients; your pets.
However, in order for us to remain open, we are further tightening our biosecurity measures in-line with the government advise on social-distancing. It is with the health of our clients and our team in mind that we are temporarily keeping the hospital for staff only.
If you, as a client, are fit to attend your scheduled appointment, we ask that you please check in for your appointment on arrival by calling us on 01494 578566 and wait for your appointment in your car. A member of our nursing team will come to your car to collect your pet and run though the admission paperwork with you. We ask that you remain in your car and the specialist will call you for a thorough discussion surrounding your pet’s condition and treatment options. Once your pet has had a full clinical examination, the specialist will advise if they need to be admitted. Please be assured that you, as the owner, will always have the final say on what treatment you would like your pet to receive. If your pet stays with us, we ask that you call our reception to arrange a deposit payment over the phone.
Once your pet is in hospital you will receive regular phone updates on their progress. If you pet is having surgery, you will be given a post-op update and then subsequent AM/PM updates by the ward nurse.
We hope you will all understand that this is in no way cause for concern, but during these unprecedented times it is important that we are able to stay open to treat all pets who need us, and this is currently the safest option for both you and us.
Our fantastic Client Care Team will be sending out further information to clients who already have an appointment booked in, but if you have a non-urgent query (medication requests, re-arranging appointments, in-patient updates) we ask that you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and our team will respond as soon as possible. If you have an urgent query (your pet is in pain, emergency appointment) please call our main line and speak to a member of staff.
With very best wishes,
Clare & Michael Hamilton
We’re proud to be a family-run, independent practice. We’re able to combine traditional values with efficient, modern treatments.
Client, patient and employee health and safety is our foremost concern, so we have implemented strict biosecurity and operational preventative measures. This is not cause for alarm but limiting infection will help us do this.
Our priority is to continue to offer gold-standard service for both routine and emergency orthopaedic and neurological cases whilst doing our utmost to limit the spread of Covid-19 as much as possible. We are to all intents and purposes, “business as usual” with additional sanitation measures.
We are kindly asking that if there is a chance that you have Covid-19 and/or have come into contact with anyone with the virus you do not attend the hospital in person but contact us via email or telephone to discuss your pet’s treatment on an individual basis so that we can work out a treatment plan. For those visiting the clinic we have sanitiser available at the door and do ask that you please wait in your car until your appointment, to limit the risk of spread in the waiting room.
We’re very appreciative of our team and we feel strongly about their right to enjoy their work.
