After graduating from Liverpool in 2009, Andrew spent three years in mixed practice in the Midlands and Ireland. Then spent three years in first opinion small animal practice. Andrew passed his BSAVA PGcert small animal surgery in 2014. After completing a one-year internship then a three year residency at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists, he passed his ECVS exams in 2018 making him a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Andy then joined us at Hamilton Specialist Referrals in 2021.
Andrew also has a keen interest in fractures; more specifically minimally invasive fracture repairs and Y-Humeral fractures using polyaxial locking plates. As well as Andrew’s orthopaedic experience he also has a particular interest in neurosurgery, spinal stabilisation, spinal fractures, lumbar sacral and cervical diseases.
Andrew has also produced a number of publications including; elbow dysplasia, accuracy of TPLOs, minimally invasive fracture repairs in felines, and locking Tplate repair of ilial fractures in cats and small dogs. Andrew is also currently working on the following publications: Pan carpal arthrodesis, stabilisation of spinal deformities in French bulldogs, the accuracy of patella groove replacement and the techniques for treating MPL and cruciate disease in small breed dogs.
